# Fixed Deposit Calculator — Arthum Wealth Services

Estimate the maturity value and interest on a bank or corporate FD. Choose how often interest compounds (most banks use quarterly compounding).

**Formula:** M = P × (1 + r ÷ f)^(f × n), where P = principal, r = annual rate, f = compounding frequency per year, n = tenure in years.

Remember:
- FD interest is fully taxable at your slab rate; TDS applies above ₹40,000/year (₹50,000 for seniors).
- After tax and inflation the real return is often low — FDs suit the stability layer, not the growth engine.
